WHAT IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION?

Decompression uses new advanced technology in the form of intermittent traction applied to a specific spinal region. The goal, through using a gentle pumping and pulling motion, is to create a small vacuum that pulls a disc bulge back into place. Through this process the pressure on the nerve causing it to be "pinched" is relieved.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS DECOMPRESSION

Recent studies have shown that spinal decompression is 86% effective for qualifying patients. Some of our patients notice relief after just a couple of sessions and others within the first couple of weeks. Of course it can depend on how severe the disc bulge is and how long it has been there. Spinal decompression uses new advanced technology. Decompression is used to treat nerve pain coming from disc bulges or degenerative discs. Spinal decompression can relieve pain from pinched nerves.

DOES IT HURT?

The process is generally very comfortable and it's not uncommon for us to find our patients fast asleep when we check in on them. There may be some mild discomfort upon standing just as you may experience some pain when getting out of bed in the morning. Many of our patients choose to bring an Ipod with them to enjoy some relaxing music while on decompression.

IS DECOMPRESSION RIGHT FOR ME?

If you suffer from sciatica, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, arm and hand pain, degenerative disc disease,  disc bulging, pain in the buttocks or in the back of the legs then spinal decompression is definitely something you should try before considering surgery.
